What are Bearables?
Bearables are a collection of 5890 NFT's that live on the Solana blockchain. With winks and nods to the colorful history and influential figures involved in XRP, each Bearable demonstrates support and membership in the XRP Army.
From unfounded FUD to unprecedented legal action from the SEC, the XRP army has truly proved to be the most resilient community in crypto.
This collection is an homage to our tenacity and good humor.
why mint on solana?
Generation one will be launched on Solana, with all subsequent generations being minted on the XRPL (subject to change) as soon as it gains NFT functionality. We had the option of creating tokens through XUMM as an "IOU" that would be swapped for an NFT and then burned, but we wanted to offer something to the community with immediate tangibility.
Solana is all about speed, low cost, and scalability. With transaction speeds at less than 1 second and for approximately 0.01$, it was an easy choice for us in order to provide a seamless minting experience for our community.
Roadmap
The Bearables roadmap will be accomplished in 5 phases. Each unique phase marks a milestone in the project launch. Giveaways, bonuses, lotteries and marketing strategies will be initiated once each phase reaches its threshold.

Phase 1
The whitelist has hit its limit at 200 minters strong. The presale is triggered at .589 sol per Bearable. These 200 early adopters are entered to win a prize of $589 USD that is drawn at the completion of Phase 3. Broadcasting to all members of the XRP Army is initiated and partnerships are formed with key influencers.

Phase 2
Things begin to really heat up and the public sale is initiated. At a price of 1 Sol per Bearable, investors can purchase up to 5 NFTs on mint day. With an affordable price tag, every member of the XRP Army can claim their own Bearable and be part of an exclusive community that lives and breathes XRP. Social media gains increased exposure to Bearables as unique Bearables are dispersed to key partners and influencers in the XRP community.

Phase 3
50% of all available Bearables have now been minted. The $589 USD prize draw is triggered, rewarding one happy whitelister. Each holder of a Bearable (including whitelisters) are entered to win one of 10 prizes of $589 USD. Land in the metaverse is purchased, and a virtual architect is hired to begin building ‘The Den’. The building features a massive monument to the project and all of its holders, permanently affixed in digital reality.

Phase 4

The Den
The Den is a fully functioning hangout for all holders of a Bearables NFT in the metaverse. The building design will feature a large advertisement for Bearables that will exist forever, continuously driving interest in our community.
There’s a reason why corporations such as Samsung and Dominoes Pizza are gobbling up land in the metaverse. These landmark stores/buildings are advertisements. Savvy corporations know that the metaverse will be populated, and that there is only so much land available. Bearables will allocate 5% of total sale funds to purchasing and building a monument to Bearables, cementing the project in the metaverse.

Why did you create Bearables?
We are XRP community members, and we truly believe in Ripple and its ability to change the world with its technology. The SEC is unjustly targeting XRP in it's lawsuit and we wanted to create a token of solidarity for the community to show it's support of XRP.
How do I mint a Bearable?
To mint a Bearable, you need to have a Solana compatible wallet. We recommend Phantom due to it's ease of use and browser extension, but you can also use Solflare, Sollet, Bitkeep and MathWallet*.

What are the long term goals of this project?
Grizzly Labs aims to create compelling community oriented NFT projects that bring together hodlers that share a common perspective about the future of blockchain and web3. With our premiere project, Bearables, the XRP army will have an NFT that represents membership in one of the largest crypto communities. One that has had more than its fair share of hardship and controversy, which in turn has translated into unprecedented community camaraderie and grit.
Grizzly Labs is dedicated to providing NFT projects that are unique, meaningful, and valuable. We are also dedicated to accessibility, with a moderate minting price to allow smaller players to mint their very own Bearable and benefit from subsequent interest.

Wen XRPL NFT's?
The XLS-20D proposal was created in May 2021, and as of January 10th, 2022 the devnet version is live for developers to begin working with it. This is the beginning of an exciting time for the XRP community, as teams will begin building the infrastructure and applications that users will interact with.
However, it does require an amendment to the XRP Ledger protocol, and there is currently no timeline for its fulfillment. All 117 validators on the Ledger will vote on whether to implement the amendment, over a 2 week period. If 80% of the validators vote yes, NFT functionality is coming to the XRPL!
We will be closely monitoring its status, and keeping the community updated as best we can.
